A local photographer and good friend opened up his studio for a day of meet & greet with other local photogs and also showed us his workflow from hair, makeup and outfit to lighting setup and all that jazz. Some of us brought in our lighting gear and setup in various locations in the studio to shoot and share our gear and talk photography.
As always I have no idea what I am doing...most of the time but I was there to learn and have fun, so, here are some of the photos from the event.

Ever since I got the Softlighter II by Photek I don't really use any of the softboxes. I just feel comfortable using it and it gives a very nice soft diffused light. All the shots taken in the event were lit with a B800 and the Softlighter II on a C-Stand. I also used a 580EX II for some of them for rim light but I think just one light with with the Softligher II was just fine.
I also liked shooting on a gray backdrop too and something I thought about purchasing but got the white seamless instead which is good for knockout but I really like how the colors and skin tone are rendered on gray. Guess I will add that to my Christmas list.
